A FORTRESS FULL OF... - APRIL CALENDAR

From 3 to 26 April, guided tours, educational workshops and team games at Rocca Albornoz

The calendar of free events organised by the staff of the National Museum of the Duchy of Spoleto has been published.


Four events are scheduled for the first weekend of the month, including three guided tours and an educational workshop. 

On Friday 3 April at 10.30 am, the event Sacred Representations: the birth of liturgical drama. On Saturday 4, again at 10.30 am, 1817–1982: from papal residence to prison, whilst on Sunday 5, at 10.30 am, Through the Eyes of Boccaccio: readings in the Camera Pinta and, at 3.30 pm, the educational workshop Egg Hunt.

Two guided tours are scheduled for Monday 6 April: at 10.30 am, the tour in English A Fortress through time, whilst at 3.30 pm Christus triumphans and Christus patiens in art. The second weekend in April will feature A Journey Through History: a tour of the Rocca (Saturday 11th, 10.30 am) and Malborghetto: History of the Excavations (Sunday 12th, 10.00 am).

Five events are scheduled for the last two weekends of the month: four guided tours and a team-based game.

On Saturday 18 April, at 10.30 am, La Rocca in the days of the prison (guided tour), and at 3.30 pm, the team-based murder mystery game L'Ombra del Cardinale. On Sunday 19 April at 10.30 am, The Lombards and their legacy; on Saturday 25 April at 3.30 pm, At the court of Lucrezia; and on Sunday 26 April, again at 3.30 pm, the final tour of the month dedicated to Scenes of love in the Camera Pinta.

In April, the Rocca Albornoz will be open from 9.30 am to 7.20 pm every day except Tuesday, which is the weekly closing day.
