THE OLD SPOLETO-NORCIA RAILWAY BY MOUNTAIN BIKE

The choice is not random: 2026 marks the centenary of the Old Railway, which was inaugurated in November 1926 after thirteen years of construction. To pay tribute to this special anniversary, the Organising Committee has decided to bring the events forward from their traditional early September slot to late spring.

‘It's an important change,’ explains Luca Ministrini, President of the Committee, "which we strongly wanted in order to give a distinctive mark to an edition that can only be a tribute to the Old Railway that gives its name to our association, to sporting events and to the cycle path most loved by Italians among those built on disused railways, travelled every year by thousands of cycling and walking enthusiasts. A monument that has become the symbol of a unique territory and a certain way of actively experiencing nature, playing sports, respecting places and people, and enjoying the immense cultural and food and wine heritage of Spoleto and Umbria in a sustainable way."
