SUMMER EVENTS IN SPOLETO AND THE SURROUNDING AREA 2026

From 18 July to 21 September: over 50 events including performances, music, culture and community activities

Over 50 events are scheduled for Accade d’estate a Spoleto e nei borghi 2026. Featuring theatre, music, talks, presentations, cultural initiatives and social gatherings, the event – organised by the City of Spoleto in collaboration with local associations and institutions – will take place across the historic centre and the surrounding villages.


This wide-ranging programme is designed to showcase the city’s various locations and strengthen the bond between Spoleto and its communities, with events running from 18 July to 21 September 2026 for both residents and visitors.

The programme kicks off on Saturday 18 July with two events. At 8.30 pm, the Le notti del vino (Wine nights) a tasting dinner at the Ponte delle Torri in collaboration with the National Association of Wine Cities, whilst at 9.00 pm at the Complesso Monumentale di San Nicolò, the 2026 Cristian Panetto Award "Giovani talenti sul Palco" (Young Talents on Stage) will take place.

Actor Eugenio Mastrandrea, star of the TV series Don Matteo in the role of Carabinieri Captain Diego Martini, will bring a preview of the play Pseudolus to Spoleto on 19 and 21 July at the Complesso Monumentale di San Nicolò. a brilliant and highly topical comedy by Plautus, a story of cunning, disguises, intrigue and laughter (tickets available on Ticket Italia https://shorturl.at/dZscr).

The same venue will host the Festival delle Regioni (Festival of the Regions) – now in its fifth year - from 22 to 25 July at 9.00 pm, whilst the Spoleto sul Palco Band festival, dedicated to local bands, will once again feature on the programme with five evenings (14, 21, 30 July and 2 and 6 August, all starting at 9.00 pm), which will take place at the San Giacomo ‘Francesco Cesarini and Geremia Duranti’ public park.

Among the various events scheduled, on 1 August, Piazza Pianciani will host, from 9.00 pm, the DJ set: Spoleto under the stars in memory of Stelvio Gauzzi. Two events organised by Suoni Controvento will take place: on 2 August, in Meggiano, writer Christian Raimo will present his book “L’invenzione del colore”; on 29 August, in Terzo San Severo, Francamente – a Turin-based project blending singer-songwriting and electronic music – will perform as part of the Bitte Leben Summer Tour.

Rita Charbonnier, together with Gabriele Francioli, will present her recital Three women: from myth to the stage. Words and music in Spoleto and its villages in Ocenelli (30 July), Beroide (6 August) and Montebibico (13 August), whilst on 7 August, in Sant’Eufemia and at the Convent of San Francesco, there will be a guided tour of the exhibition Francesco nei luoghi del silenzio e della visione spirituale (Francis in the places of silence and spiritual vision), and on 9 August, at 7.00 pm in Monteluco, there will be a themed concert on the Sacred Transit of St Francis, organised by Umbria Ensemble.

As for events dedicated to food and wine, the first edition of Spoleto Saporito. A gastronomic journey through flavours, tastes, aromas and nature will take place in Piazza Garibaldi from 4 to 6 September, featuring a market exhibition and workshops, whilst the Gnam Food Festival will be held at the Giro della Rocca from 17 to 20 September.
