TOURS OF THE TOWERS AND WALKWAYS OF THE FORTRESS

From one tower to another via the ancient military walkways, discovering the fascinating history of the Rocca Albornoz

Visits to the panoramic walkways and towers of the Rocca Albornoz in Spoleto are scheduled every day


The one-hour tour winds its way through tunnels and ancient cells, allowing visitors to move from one tower to another via the ancient military walkways. Visitors, in small groups, will be able to explore areas only recently opened to the public, enriched by videos and information material illustrating the history of the Rocca, the activities that took place within its walls over the centuries, and aspects of daily life in the Middle Ages.

The Tower tours recount life within the fortress from the time of its construction in the mid-14th century up to the period when it was used as a prison between the 19th and 20th centuries.

Passing through rooms where graffiti left by prisoners is still visible, visitors will reach the panoramic terraces to admire a breathtaking view of Spoleto.

A unique opportunity to see the city and its monuments from a fresh perspective.

Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday: 11.00 am
Saturday: 10.00–13.00 (last admission at 12.00) and 17.00–19.00 (last admission at 18.00)
Sunday: 10.00–13.00 (last admission at 12.00)

The tours are organised by Maggioli Cultura e Turismo. Please arrive at the museum ticket office 15 minutes before departure.
