SEPTEMBER AT THE ROCCA ALBORNOZ

A month exploring the Rocca Albornoz, through art, history, architecture and panoramic views

A packed programme of events and tours is scheduled for September, offering visitors the chance to explore the fortress from every angle.

At the heart of the programme will be tours of the exhibition ‘Dario Fo, the Painter: Theatrical Machines’, hosted in the main halls of the Rocca: an opportunity to immerse oneself in the creative world of one of the most original figures in Italian culture.

There will also be an event dedicated to the fortress’s imposing defensive system, which for centuries made the Rocca a key strategic point for controlling the territory, exploring its architecture, military function and historical events.

The month will conclude with a special guided tour of the panoramic walkways, offering a chance to discover the Rocca from a privileged vantage point and admire the landscape at sunset, when the fortress and the surrounding area take on a whole new atmosphere.

Programme:

Saturday 12 September at 12:00: guided tour of the exhibition ‘Dario Fo, the Painter: The Theatrical Machines’
Friday 18 September at 18:00: guided tour ‘Pages of Stone’: the walls and the defensive system of the Rocca
Saturday 19 September at 12.00: guided tour of the exhibition ‘Dario Fo, the Painter: Theatrical Machines’
Saturday 26 September at 19.00: sunset tour of the panoramic walkways and towers, followed at 21.00 by a guided tour of the exhibition ‘Dario Fo, the Painter: Theatrical Machines’

Admission:
- Cost of guided tours: €5.00, subject to purchase of a museum entry ticket or a Spoleto Card.
- Cost of the panoramic walkways: €10.00, subject to purchase of an entry ticket costing €1.00 (special European Heritage Days offer).
